Christmas Parade Lights Up Village's Downtown

Annual holiday parade lights up faces with delight and the village as celebration continued on Wellwood.

The annual Christmas parade lit up Lindenhurst like a decorated Christmas tree this past Sunday to the delight of hundreds lining the street.

The parade, featuring trucks from the Lindenhurst Fire Department decorated from head to toe with lights and other decor, hit the downtown area of Lindenhurst around 5:30 p.m., bringing smiles to the faces of children and adults alike.

Starting at around 4:30 p.m. near Shore Road Park, the bandwagon wound its way slowly up from the southern portion of the village on Wellwood Avenue up to the intersection of Hoffman Avenue.

Along with holiday favorites such as the Peanuts gang and festive floats, Santa Claus came along for the ride, merrily waving to on-lookers.

The event culminated with the eventual lighting of the village tree at Hoffman Avenue and Wellwood Avenue.
