Clam Bake Raises Money for the Community
The Lindenhurst Republican Club's annual event is set for tonight at Chateau La Mer, and tickets are still available.
The Lindenhurst Republican Club is holding its Annual Clam Bake fundraiser tonight at from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The purpose, according to Club Sergeant-at-Arms Joe Barone, is to raise money to give back to the community.
"Last year we raised approximately $3,500, so this year we were able to give out $1,250 in scholarships," Barone told Lindenhurst Patch.

"That's the most we've ever given," he noted.
The scholarships are going to Class of 2012 ($500), his twin brother ($500) and fellow 2012 LHS grad Alissa Eckert ($250).

The formal check presentation will take place at tonight's event, Barone said.
The Club is also honoring three people who give back to the community: Bill Atkinson, Mike Rapisardi and Gerard Sherlock.
is the president of Lindenhurst National Little League. Rapisardi is the president of the Lindenhurst Football and Cheering League. And Sherlock is the president of the Lindenhurst Junior Squire Soccer League.
"We're big fans of giving back and honoring those who do," Barone said.
The money the Club raises at the annual event also goes to the Marathon Club, local food pantires and other local charities, he noted.
Tickets are still available for tonight's event for the price of a $50 donation each. They'll be also sold at the door.
There’ll be food, music and an open bar, too.
