Elderly Person Hit By Car And Hospitalized On LI: Police
An elderly pedestrian was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Copiague on Friday morning, according to Suffolk County police.
COPIAGUE, NY – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Copiague on Friday morning, according to Suffolk County police.
Romain Ismael, 24, of Amityville, was driving a 2017 BMW eastbound on Marconi Boulevard, near Verrazzano Avenue, when the vehicle struck a 72-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road around 8:43 a.m., police said.
The pedestrian was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries and their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Ismael was not injured and the BMW was impounded for a safety check, police said.
