Fire Departments Hosting Fire Prevention Expo This Sun.

Fire expo teaches about the dangers of a live fire, heavy smoke and how the departments battle blazes.

The Lindenhurst and North Lindenhurst Fire Departments will co-host a Fire Prevention Expo at Fireman's Park Pavilion this Sunday.

The educational expo will include a demonstration of Lindenhurst crews' tools, ladder maneuvers and hose handling as well as a live burn exercise.

Children will be allowed to slide down the fire truck slide and try on gear during the event and shoot targets with the fire house.

Fire department officials are also promising a smoke house experience that will help people of all ages realize the dangers in a burning home.

Free hot dogs and drinks will be provided during the event.

The expo kicks off on October 13 at 12 noon until 4 p.m.
