Firefighters Battle Blaze In 2-Story Home On LI: Police

Firefighters extinguished a fire that ripped through a two-story home on Long Island early Tuesday morning.

LINDENHURST, NY — Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in a North Lindenhurst home early Tuesday morning.

North Lindenhurst Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a fire in a two-story home with flames blazing on both floors on Farmers Avenue around 3:30 a.m., police told Patch.

Crews operated three lines to knock down the fire with extensive overhaul needed on both floors, photographer Anthony Frevola observed at the scene.

Mutual aid was provided by West Babylon, Lindenhurst and East Farmingdale fire departments, bringing an additional two engines and two ladders to the scene.

Police said arson detectives are investigating the fire but at this time, the cause does not appear to be criminal and remains under investigation.
