First Precinct Police Officer Honored

Officer James Padgett receives award from Knights of Columbus.

First Precinct Police Officer James Padgett was recently named the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Rosary Council 2012 Top Cop. He received the honor during a ceremony on May 16.

Padgett is a 12-year veteran with the Suffolk County Police Department and has been previously honored as a “Cop of the Month” while also receiving a “Departmental Recognition” Award. Last year alone, Police Officer Padgett made 31 arrests including six for DWI and four for felony activities.  He demonstrated excellent traffic enforcement activity in 2012.

“Police Officer Padgett serves the residents of the Town of Babylon tirelessly, selflessly and with a dedication that is an inspiration to the entire community,” said Suffolk Legis. Lou D’Amaro. “It is my privilege to congratulate him for his dedication to protecting our citizens and his ongoing commitment to keeping our roads and neighborhoods safe.”
