He's 'Mr. Copiague' and 'A Kind-Hearted Person': Copiague Star Student

We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Copiague.

Ari is a Patch Star Student.

COPIAGUE, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Nancy Goldstein who nominated Ari of Copiague.

Goldstein said her son, Ari, has grown into a confident musician, who recently won the title of "Mr. Copiague."

How do you know the star local student?

My Son

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Being the youngest of four boys, he was always the quiet one and shy. Having the opportunity to play music gave him the ability to have a “voice”. Ari learned to be a drummer and progressed through all the drums. He is a seasoned snare player now.

Ari built his confidence to be able to join clubs and take on leadership roles and just competed in the town competition “Mr Copiague”. His talent was his rotating through the drums and had the emote Drumline join him. These kids have so much respect for him as he gives them the respect they deserve. He actually won!

He is so proud of his accomplishments and waiting on the rest of his college applications now. He applied to nine and was accepted to four already. Very proud of all he has done and the respect he gives others.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Ari is a kind-hearted person who always thinks of others before himself

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Ari!
