LINDENHURST, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Alyssa Bompartito who nominated Joe Joe and Rocco of Lindenhurst.

The proud mom said her twin boys go "above and beyond" to help their peers and act with kindness on a daily basis.

How do you know the star local student?

My twin boys

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

They are the kindest, nicest boys to everyone they meet. Each and every parent teacher conference, their teachers say how they go above and beyond to help other students in their class who might be struggling. Please and thank you is one thing they always say, which the teachers say they don't hear often. They arise to events in the community.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

They will do anything for anyone they meet. They hate seeing kids bullying kids.

Joe Joe wants to be a cardiologist.Rocco wants to design prosthetic heart valves

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Joe Joe and Rocco!
