Latest LI Storm: Town-by-Town Rainfall Totals

LONG ISLAND, NY — The storm Wednesday and Thursday dumped another 2-3 inches of rain on most of the region, with the heaviest precipitation in the center of the island, according to NYS Mesonet.

We will have a chance to dry out starting Saturday, but it's going to get colder, dropping from highs in the lower 50s today to highs in the low 40s on Sunday. By midnight New Year's Eve, temperatures will be in the 30s, the National Weather Service predicts.

New Year's Day will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 40s, so be sure to get out for a First Day Hike.
