LCAC Receives National Substance Misuse Prevention Award
LCAC received the Coalition of Excellence Award for Coalition in Focus category from CADCA Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America)
Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC) received the Coalition of Excellence Award for Coalition in Focus category] from CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America), the nation’s leading substance use and misuse prevention organization. The Coalition of Excellence award is part of CADCA’s Got Outcomes! award program, which gives national recognition to exemplary coalitions that have clearly documented their impact on population-level substance abuse outcomes. LCAC will receive this prestigious award on Feb. 3 during CADCA’s 2022 National Leadership Forum at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
“We are extremely honored to receive the Coalition in Focus award. This recognition for our coalition's hard work motivates us to continue to make a difference in the health and wellness of our community,” said Janet Lombardo, LCAC Project Coordinator.
To achieve success, coalitions have to determine effective solutions to substance abuse in their community. “The Levittown Community Action Coalition's commitment to prevention in their community and the milestones that have been achieved is exemplary! LCAC's successful framework and practices serve as a model for coalitions across New York State. The demonstrated leadership and teamwork of its members is the true essence of a coalition,” said Adrienne LoPresti, Executive Director, YES Community Counseling Center.

Levittown Community Action Coalition was founded in 2015, in Levittown, NY. Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC) is comprised of a dedicated group of individuals and entities within our Levittown Community – representatives from our schools, our youth, law enforcement, media, hospitals, libraries, substance abuse treatment agencies, civic groups, businesses, religious organizations, state and local agencies, and other organizations involved in substance abuse prevention– working together to reduce substance misuse through recognition, education and awareness.
LCAC’s vision is to support a community where residents feel safe, valued, connected, and empowered to respond to life’s challenges without resorting to the use and abuse of alcohol, opiates and other drugs.
