The Lindenhurst Department of Public Works (DPW) is getting a brand-new facility!

Ground recently broke on Phase 1 of this capital improvement project to construct a new central garage, administrative offices, along with site improvements, and demolish the old, dilapidated current DPW facility at 121 Albany Avenue.

Over the years, the Lindenhurst DPW has expanded their fleet of vehicles and equipment in order to improve the many essential services the Village provides to residents. These services include sanitation, recycling, street and roadway maintenance, snow removal, parks maintenance, and horticultural conservation and beautification. As a result of the increased use, and the natural course of time, the DPW has outgrown their facilities and the buildings have fallen into a state of disrepair.

Trustee Douglas Madlon said, “This project, funded in part by NYS State and Municipal Facilities Grant funds, will upgrade and improve the public works buildings and grounds to better service our Lindenhurst community.”
