Lindenhurst Class of 2012 Grad Flies Like an Eagle
Austin Miller-Smith of Lindenhurst Troop 60 recently celebrated his Eagle Court of Honor at the Lindenhurst Knights of Columbus.
Lindenhurst resident Austin Miller-Smith recently achieved Eagle Scout status in a ceremony at the Lindenhurst .
A member of Troop 60 in Lindy, Miller-Smith celebrated his Eagle Court of Honor surrounded by his family, friends and fellow scouts.
"Austin's project was the construction and placement of green fly boxes in the marshes of the Great South Bay, along with a clean-up of Gilgo Beach," his mother, Celeste Jinks, recently told Lindenhurst Patch.

A member of the , he'll be attending in the fall as a business major, Jinks noted.
Suffolk County Legislator and Deputy Presiding Officer of the Suffolk Legislature attended Miller-Smith's Court of Honor and presented him with a proclamation as he received his prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

"Although many scouts begin the difficult journey which leads them to the pinnacle of their scouting careers, only a small percentage actually achieves this goal and receives the esteemed Eagle Scout Award," said Horsley in a press release about the May 30 event.
