Lindenhurst Gears Up For 4th Annual NY LI Film Festival

The three-day event will feature screenings of more than 85 films. Read on to view the festival's schedule.

LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst is gearing up for a weekend of art, entertainment, and Hollywood.

The 4th Annual New York Long Island Film Festival is to return to the South Shore, and will take place from Oct. 20 to Oct. 22.

The three-day event will feature screenings of more than 85 films, and will take place in two locations.

On Thursday, the South Shore Theatre Experience, located at 115 South Wellwood Ave., will showcase films from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Afterwards, participants are welcome to enjoy an opening party at Sand City Brewery, located at 150 S Wellwood Ave, directly across from the South Shore Theatre Experience.

On Friday and Saturday, the festival will move to the Lindenhurst Moose Lodge, located at 883 South Broadway. Films will be shown between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

An after party will also be held on Friday night at Belfast Gastropub, located at 101 N Wellwood Ave.

Both parties will offer a cash bar, various menus, as well as red carpet events, photography and interviews with casts, crews and attendees.

In 2019, filmmaker Gerry Ferretti and actress Katie Schrader created the festival to "give equal opportunity to all filmmakers, actors, actresses, writers and artists who part their hearts and souls into their crafts."

According to its website, this is the first year the festival will give physical awards for different categories of films, including: best actor and actress; best director; best film; editing; cinematography; and audience awards.

The Spirit of NYLIFF Award will also be presented for the film that has "no right" to be as good as it is with the resources available to it.

Feretti's drama series "The Fontanas" will also premiere at the festival.

Tickets can be purchased online and range from $10 to $12 per screening block, $28 per day, or $75 for a VIP All Access Pass.
