Lindenhurst Man Faces Charges Over Fake, Real Guns: Nassau Police
Police allege they found both weapons after he was pulled over in Brookville.

LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst man faces weapons charges after an incident Thursday in Brookville, Nassau police said.
According to Nassau County detectives, while on patrol a Brookville Police officer watched a white 2023 Dodge Charger northbound on Route 107 near Wheatley Road that commit several traffic infractions.
The officer conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop of the vehicle on Route 107 near Equestrian Court.

During the investigation, an imitation pistol resembling a Glock 9mm was recovered, police said. The driver, Robert Abruzzese, 49 of 345 North Niagara Ave. was placed under arrest without incident.

Upon further investigation, a loaded Smith and Wesson .38 revolver was also recovered from inside the vehicle, police said.

Abruzzese was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 nd degree, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4 th degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at First District Court at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
