Lindenhurst Memorial Day Parade Set For May 27
Lindenhurst will celebrate Memorial Day with a parade and festivities around town.
LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst will celebrate Memorial Day on Monday, May 27 with a parade through the town and a ceremony.
The parade is sponsored by the United Veterans Council of Lindenhurst Wade-Burns Post 7279 Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and American Legion Feustel-Kurdt Post 1120.
This year’s Grand Marshal is surviving Korean War Veteran Thomas Aloisi.

The celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. with ceremonies by the VFW at Breslau Cemetery and the Lindenhurst Fire Department at Fireman’s Memorial Park.
After that, the parade will head west on Newark Street, turn south on Delaware Avenue then west on Charles Street to Fireman’s Park

At 11 a.m., the parade will head west on Hartford Street, turn south on North Wellwood Avenue and make a brief stop on South Wellwood Avenue to lay a wreath at the WWI Memorial. Finally, it'll proceed to Village Hall on Wellwood Avenue where a Memorial Day Observance will occur at noon.
Veterans organizations, the Lindenhurst Fire Department, elected officials, school marching bands, Junior ROTC, and local civic organizations and community groups will march in the parade.
If it rains, the parade will be canceled and ceremonies will be held at Lindenhurst's Fire Department Main House at 225 South Wellwood Avenue at 10 a.m.
