Lindenhurst Middle School Students Join Forces to Provide Thanksgiving Meals for Local Families
Lindenhurst Middle School Students In Action
Students at Lindenhurst Middle School came together to give back in a meaningful way, assembling Thanksgiving food packages for families in the community who needed extra support during the holiday season. The service project brought together multiple school clubs, including the Lindy Cares Youth Club and the Student Council, who worked side by side to make the initiative a success.
Throughout the week, students sorted donations, organized supplies, and carefully packed bags filled with traditional Thanksgiving essentials, including canned vegetables, stuffing, pasta, desserts, and pantry staples. The collaborative effort created a positive, energetic environment where students encouraged one another and took pride in their shared mission.
Their hard work paid off: by the end of the project, students prepared and delivered food packages for 20 local families. Advisors, Ancy Paulose and Principal Marcy Miler supported the students’ dedication, noting that they approached the project with compassion, responsibility, and a strong desire to help others.
For many students, the experience offered more than just volunteer hours; it gave them a firsthand understanding of community needs, teamwork, and the impact that small acts of service can have. Members from each participating club shared that they felt proud to know their efforts would help families enjoy a warm, meaningful holiday meal.
