Lindenhurst Schools Appoints New Literacy & Elementary Math Coodinator

16 year teaching veteran takes the helm for reading and arithmetic for Lindy Schools.

The Lindenhurst School District has appointed Stacey Morgan as the district's new coordinator for literacy and elementary math.

Morgan joins the Lindenhurst School District after previously working as a first- and second-grade teacher with an administrative internship in the South Huntington School District.

“I have more than 16 years of teaching experience with an extensive literacy background,” Morgan said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with the Lindenhurst community to prepare students for the future.”

Morgan has also served as a reading recovery teacher and literature trainer at the Three Village School District, a fourth-grade teacher in the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District and a teacher at P.S. 117 in Queens.

She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Concordia University in Chicago, a Masters of Science in educational technology from Long Island University Post Campus and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from CUNY Queens College.
