Lindenhurst Server Recognized As An 'Applebee's Hometown Hero'
Tanya Lindenberg, an employee at Applebee's Lindenhurst location, was recognized for her extensive volunteer work and community impact.

LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst resident was recently honored by Applebee's for her extensive volunteer work and community impact.
Tanya Lindenberg, a bartender and server at Applebee's Lindenhurst location, has been recognized as an Applebee’s Hometown Hero.
A member of the Lindenhurst PTA for more than 18 years, she’s involved in coaching both soccer and little league, while also playing a pivotal role as fundraising chair for the Lindenhurst High School Marching band.

Over the years she has remained a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America where each of her four sons is an active member, three of whom have already earned the level of Eagle Scout, a release said.
Active duty military and veterans enjoy a free meal in appreciation for their service on Veterans Day, a release said.

Each year on this day — one of the busiest days of the year at Applebee’s restaurants nationwide — Tanya organizes a group of scouts to help out at the Lindenhurst Applebee’s, located at 600 N Wellwood Ave. The scouts make Thank You cards for the veterans, walk around the restaurant greeting people, and listen to their stories.
“We are proud of Tanya not only for the work she does in the community but for the programs she has initiated at the restaurant, including a highly effective peer recognition program,” said Kurt Pahlitzsch, VP of Operations at Doherty Enterprises. “We couldn’t be more thrilled that her efforts have been recognized from a pool of applicants throughout the United States with this special Applebee’s honor.”
Established in 2019, Applebee’s Hometown Hero program recognizes restaurant employees throughout the United States who exemplify exceptional service as a" good neighbor, teammate, and friend - even when faced with adversity."
