Lindenhurst Educators Honored With Leadership Roles
Two educators in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District have been honored with statewide leadership positions, the district says.
LINDENHURST, NY — Two educators in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District have been recognized with significant statewide leadership positions, the district announced Wednesday.
Jennifer Freedman, Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation and Data Privacy Officer for the district, has been appointed as At-Large Director of the New York State Association for Computers and Technology in Education.
An ISTE Certified Educator and Western Suffolk BOCES 2023 Administrator of the Year, Freedman oversees digital fluency initiatives and library media programs while pursuing her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction.

The district said NYSCATE serves over 29,000 educators statewide through conferences and workshops promoting technology integration in schools.
In addition, Jaclyn Coscia, a cosmetology teacher at Lindenhurst High School, has been named the New York State Trade & Technical Education Zone 6 Representative by the NYS Trade & Technical Education Association.

Coscia has over 22 years of industry experience and is co-founder of the Long Island Cosmetology Teachers' Association, bringing an extensive depth of experience to this role.
The district said NYSTTEA supports career and technical educators across New York through professional development, advocacy, and collaboration.
"These honors celebrate Ms. Freedman and Ms. Coscia's exceptional expertise, reflecting their tremendous value to both Lindenhurst students and their respective professional fields," said Lindenhurst Superintendent of Schools Vincent A. Caravana. "These recognitions are well deserved. I know they will continue to represent Lindenhurst with pride."
