Suffolk Uncle Louie G's To Close Saturday

LINDENHURST, NY — A beloved Italian Ice and ice cream chain is closing its Lindenhurst location.
Uncle Louie G's, located at 198 E Montauk Highway, will close its doors for the last time on Saturday evening, the business announced on social media.
"After 10 years in business, this location will be closing on Nov. 19," store representatives said. "We want to thank everyone who has supported us."

Uncle Louie G was first originated in 1959, in Brooklyn. Since then, the chain has expanded to Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester, New Jersey, Nashville, Texas, South Carolina, and Florida.
The chain, known for its "33 flavors" of ice cream and refreshing Italian ices, also has locations in Oceanside, Floral Park, and Seaford.

The Lindenhurst store was its only Suffolk location. In 2019, the store was taken over by a local family, Greater Long Island said.
Numerous community members commented on the post, saddened by the news.
"We are open from 12 to 5 on Saturday If you’d like to come say goodbye," the store said."We hope we delivered on making you 'feel like a kid again'."
