Update: Lindy Couple Searches for Their Missing Dog in Need of Her Meds

Tasha, an 11-year-old female boxer, got out of owner Rick and Celeste Haas' yard South of Sunrise Highway on March 1, and is in need of medication.

Update, 4:30 p.m., March 5: "Unfortunately Tasha has passed away. Thank you all for helping us try to find her. She is at rest now," owner Rick Haas wrote on Lindenhurst Patch's Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon.

The search is on for a boxer named Tasha who's gone missing in Lindenhurst and is need of medication.

Owner Rick Haas posted the 11-year-old, female pup's picture (shown here) to Lindenhurst Patch's Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

"On March 1, 2013, near Wellwood Avenue and Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst, New York, my 11-year-old, female boxer - brindle-and-white - got out of our yard. She's very sweet and in need of medication," Haas wrote on Sunday.

"She was lost South of Sunrise. Someone called yesterday giving a weak description, saying they may have seen her. They said they followed, but lost her near Route 109 and Sunrise. I spent time there and saw nothing," Haas later updated on the long Lindenhurst Patch Facebook thread and 295 shares Tasha's photo and information has prompted as of Monday afternoon.

Haas is urging anyone with information about Tasha to "please contact me, Rick, or my wife, Celeste" at 631-987-6810 or e-mail bos1ey@msn.com.

Tasha's microchip ID is 4450642B44, he noted.
