Lindy Oktoberfest Set for This Weekend
The annual Lindenhurst event, set for October 5 to 7, features rides, games, antique cars and, of course, a beer garden with German food and entertainment.
Presented by the Village of Lindenhurst and the Lindenhurst Rotary Club, the annual Oktoberfest is set for this weekend, from Friday to Sunday, October 5 to 7.
This is the Rotary Club's major fundraiser for the year, according to Club Treasurer and Deputy Village Adminsitrator Doug Madlon.
"We use the money to help a lot of people, food pantries and the like," he said.

Sunday festivities feature the Street Festival, which takes place along North and South Wellwood Avenue in the heart of Lindenhurst Village.
The Street Festival will take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. along North and South Wellwood Avenue in the heart of downtown Lindenhurst Village.
It'll include continuous live entertainment, a beer garden and traditional German food at the Village Square Gazebo and on Wellwood Avenue.
The Festival will also include arts and crafts, food and merchandise vendors and a classic antique car show.
The midway with rides, games and food will also be open.
In addition, according to the Lindenhurst Moose Lodge, members will be at the gazebo serving bratwurst, potato pancakes, hot dogs and moose burgers - rain or shine, as well.
LOOM said, "We'll have carports, pop-up tents and whatever it takes for you to have a great day. So come on down. We will be there."
Also on Sunday the Mayor's Beautification Society will feature home-baked cookies and fruit, nut and berry breads, plus Autumnal hand-made arts and crafts made by Dolores of Always in Stitches.
"All items donated and sold go to benefit the beautification of our Village," said the Society.
Rain or Shine
The weather is forecast to be nice for Friday night, but rain is expected to arrive on Sunday.
However, the annual event will go on rain or shine, Madlon said.
"Hopefully, the weather will hold out until 5 p.m. on Sunday," he added.
