Lindy Strongly Represented at Seawolves Stadium
Lindenhurt's Mitch Mendell has supported his best friend, Seawolves tight end and Lindy alum Dave Shukri, in nearly every game during the past few years.
Some people, as the saying goes, wear their hearts on their sleeves.
But Lindenhurst's Mitch Mendell wears his on his t-shirt.
His best friend is David Shukri, a senior tight end for the Stony Brook University Seawolves football team who hails from Lindenhurst.

In support Mendell - who has a degree in business from Nassau Community College and started his own custom apparel business, South Shore Royal Tees, a year ago - created a custom, red-blue-and-white t-shirt bearing Shukri's number, 88, and the nickname "Super Dave."
Mendell said he's been to nearly every game in his friend's career at Stony Brook since they graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 2008.

And that includes last week's contest at Syracuse.

And here's what he had to say about the SBU Seawolves football team's chances this year: "I have faith in the Seawolves. They've got three conference championships. I'm confident this is going to be the fourth."
And as the stadium celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, Mitch called it a great one.
"Good atmosphere, good food, good fans," he said.
