Man Arrested After Shooting 17-Year-Old To Death In Suffolk: Police

They were acquaintances, police say.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY — A North Amityville man was arrested Saturday after shooting an acquaintance to death, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place on Francine Avenue at 8:55 p.m.

First Precinct officers responded after a 911 caller reported a male with a gunshot wound; when officers arrived, they found Robin Moscoso-Hernandez, 17, with a single shot to the chest, police said.

Moscoso-Hernandez, of Bethpage, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Bryan Ventura-Ramirez, 20, who lives in the North Amityville home, was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.

Ventura-Ramirez is slated for arraignment on October 20 at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
