Memorial Fund Set up in Walsh's Honor

Family sets up memorial fund in the memory of the Lindenhurst teen killed in a DWI crash on June 24.

Brittney Walsh, the Lindenhurst teen who was killed in a June 24 car crash on Montauk Highway by alleged drunk driver Michael Grasing of Babylon, was laid to rest on Friday in Breslau Cemetery in Lindenhurst.

Now, in her honor, the family has set up The Brittney Walsh Memorial Fund.

Fliers announcing the memorial fund lay out on tables along with prayer cards at the in Babylon, where Walsh was waked and eulogized last week by Pastor Lee Gangaware of the in Lindenhurst.

"On June 24, 2012, Brittney Walsh was taken from her family and friends. In her 18 years of life she touched many hearts with her love and smile," the flier read.

"She was tragically taken from this earth much too soon by a drunk driver," the flier continued.

The flier urged support of the Walsh family by supporting the memorial fund.

Donations could be made to any Chase Bank, to The Brittney Walsh Memorial Fund, or mailed to The Brittney Walsh Memorial Fund at 290 West Riviera Drive, Lindenhurst, NY 11757.
