More Than 40 Weapons Seized From Lindenhurst Home, Police Say

Guns, switchblades, and brass knuckles were all found in the Lindenhurst home, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A probation search at a Lindenhurst home led to the discovery of more than 40 weapons and the arrest of a 60-year-old man on Friday morning, Suffolk County police said.

According to Suffolk police, probation officers were conducting a home search on E. Granada Ave. around 9:15 a.m. when they observed brass knuckles and an expandable baton in plain view inside the home of Albert Tusa.

Police responded and conducted a further search, which police said uncovered:

  • Eight handguns
  • 17 long guns
  • 16 switchblades
  • Two high-capacity magazines

According to police, Tusa, who authorities said is on probation for criminal contempt, was arrested and charged with:

  • Eight counts of criminal possession of a firearm
  • One count of criminal possession of an assault weapon
  • 43 counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon — prior conviction
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • One count of second-degree criminal contempt

Tusa will be held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
