Motorcyclist Killed In Suffolk Collision

The motorcyclist struck a sedan as the car was turning into a residential driveway, police say.

AMITYVILLE, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Amityville on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

Rocco Pesce, 25, of Massapequa, was riding a 2016 Yamaha R1 motorcycle northbound on County Line Road, approximately 100 feet south of Oakley Street, when Pesce struck a southbound 2019 Infiniti sedan as it was turning left into a residential driveway at approximately 8:30 p.m., police said.

Pesce was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The driver of the Infiniti, a 49-year-old Amityville man, was not injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
