Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Lindenhurst Crash: Police

The motorcycle struck a vehicle as it was making a turn, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after they crashed into a vehicle in Lindenhurst on Monday evening, Suffolk County Police said.

The driver of a 2020 Dodge Durango was traveling on Shore Road at about 5:15 p.m.when they attempted to make a left-hand turn into the westbound lanes of Montauk Highway.

The Dodge was struck by a Honda motorcycle traveling eastbound, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle, who is from North Babylon, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in serious condition, police said.

The driver of the Dodge Lindenhurst, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, to call the First Squad at 631-854- 8152.
