Driver Intentionally Strikes, Injures Suffolk Police Officer: Cops

The motorist struck the officer and fled the scene, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A driver is being sought after by police after they intentionally struck an injured a Suffolk County Police Officer in North Lindenhurst on Thursday, officials said.

At about 7:35 p.m., the driver of a vehicle struck multiple police cars and an officer on foot at 50th Street, police said.

The officer on foot was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorist fled the scene.
