New Doggy Day Care Celebrates Grand Opening In Lindenhurst
"I see their love for one another and they just bring me peace and happiness. Who doesn't love getting kisses all day long?"-Dayna Serigano.

LINDENHURST, NY — A new doggy day care and boarding facility is officially serving dog parents in the Lindenhurst area.
Camp Bow Wow, located at 660 N. Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, opened in February and will host its grand opening on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event will feature dogs for adoption from Babylon Animal Shelter, and those adopted will receive one free day of care at Camp Bow Wow. The event will also feature vendors, activities and camp tours.

Owner and Lindenhurst local Dayna Serigano realized there was a void to fill in quality pet care after searching for boarding for her 4-year-old Havanese, Layla. After some R&D, she opened Camp Bow Wow, one of over 200 franchise location in the U.S. and Canada.
"I struggled to find a safe and clean facility for day care and boarding in the community to take care of my dog while I was away," she told Patch. "When I saw the Camp Bow Wow model, I knew it was perfect for my dog, and I wanted to bring that level of care to the Lindenhurst and surrounding communities."

According to Serigano, Camp Bow Wow offers "all-inclusive care for pups by providing an exciting and safe environment for all-day play, socialization and overnight stays along with grooming."
Serigano was born and raised in West Babylon "right on the Lindenhurst boarder." She still resides in the area with her husband, Steven, where they raised their two daughters.
For the Seriganos, Camp Bow Wow is a family affair. Their 16-year-old daughter Abigayle is part of the Camp Bow Wow team and Layla "attends camp often," Serigano said.
While Camp Bow Wow is Serigano's first foray into professional pet care, she's no stranger to working with her community.
For over 30 years, she worked in the local restaurant industry, most recently as a City Leader for Taco Bell overseeing 17 Long Island locations and over 1,00 team members. She also spent "many years" coaching girls softball, basketball and soccer.
So far, her new career is pure fun. Particularly, Serigano said she "loves" learning the dog's personalities and watching them play with their "furends."
"I see their love for one another and they just bring me peace and happiness. Who doesn't love getting kisses all day long? Each one of them is special to me and shows their love for me every single day, may it be from a kiss, a hug, a happy dance or just a brush against my legs as they pass me during their arrival," Serigano said. "Each one has their own special greeting. When I'm in the play yards with them they follow me around to get their personal love pets and belly rubs."
After more than three decades working with humans, Serigano witnesses all kinds of shenanigans with her new "customers."
For example, a chocolate lab named Kona "turns into a defensive basketballer" when the crew hoses down the turf as she tries to have the water squirted in her mouth.
"If you try to trick her and point to another spot she leaps like a ballerina to get in front of the hose," Serigano said.
A beagle named Elvis sings to the crew daily while a black lab named Olive loves to spill buckets of water and then rolls around in the flood.
There's even crushes at Camp Bow Wow, like a Yorkie named Cesar who routinely "gives kisses" to a dachshund named Lucy.
All of that goes on while Bryce, a 175-pound bull mastiff Serigano's dubbed the "king of the yard" lazes on the play yard equipment after running around with his buddies.
Sounds doggone fun.
