New Parking Meters Go Live On South Wellwood Avenue In Lindenhurst
Lindenhurst's upgraded parking meters on South Wellwood Avenue are now open for business after the meters on North Wellwood opened in June.
LINDENHURST, NY — The new touch-screen parking meters on South Wellwood Avenue in the Village of Lindenhurst are up and running, over a month after the new meters on North Wellwood went live, officials announced Thursday
Earlier this summer, village officials announced that the parking meters on Wellwood Avenue were being upgraded to touch-screen parking meter kiosks that accept both coins and credit cards.
In addition, “pay-by-app” and “pay-by-text” options that allow drivers to pay without using the kiosk have also been introduced, the village said in a statement.

The new system has also introduced numbers on most parking spaces on Wellwood Avenue, which must be noted and entered when beginning any parking transaction, according to village officials.
Drivers parking in a numbered space must use a new parking kiosk or their smartphones to pay for parking, village officials said.

Anyone parking in non-numbered spaces with an old-style parking meter may use the old meters.
To assist drivers making brief stops a few 15-minute free “in-and-out” spaces will remain on both North and South Wellwood.
Below are some additional instructions for the new meters provided by the village:

Parking times and fees remain the same and will be in effect Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Rates are .25 cents per hour with a 3-hour maximum.
