Officials: Lindenhurst Village Hall Open on Monday

Village Hall will remain open for as long as possible during Hurricane Sandy, according to officials.

Lindenhurst Village Hall will be open on Monday as Hurricane Sandy bears down Long Island and the entire East Coast.

"Village Hall will be open for as long as it can be," Village Administrator Shawn Cullinane told Lindenhurst Patch on Sunday afternoon.

This was during the third meeting to review emergency preparedness for Hurricane Sandy in the Village in as many days, and it also included Mayor Tom Brennan, Deputy Village Administrator Doug Madlon, all of the trustees, Ray Fais, emergency manager for the Village, Bob Cozzetto, emergency services coordinator for Lindenhurst Schools, and officials from the Lindenhurst Fire Department, Suffolk Police First Precinct, Department of Public Works and Code Enforcement.

If/when the weather forces Village Hall to close on Monday, then the mayor said residents with any hurricane-related problems will be able to call 631-957-7520, which, he said, should be manned the whole time.

He further indicated residents could start calling that line with hurricane-related problems on Monday morning at 7 a.m.
