Oktoberfest Brings Hundreds to the Heart of Lindenhurst

Gloomy weather or not, the annual Oktoberfest went off without a hitch this past weekend in Lindenhurst.

Friday and Saturday nights' annual games and rides area had perfect weather to start the weekend, but Sunday brought back memories of last year as clouds and mist hit the area just as the 12 noon street fair began.

The Rotary event faced a similar forecast last year, when rains pounded Lindenhurst that afternoon, but the crowds came out in force filling Wellwood Avenue from John Street through the beer gardens to the firehouse.

Locals didn't seem to mind though – Wellwood Avenue was packed with vendors, performers, rides and, best of all, people as the cooler weather brought people down to the annual German festival.
