Sara Ameri marks her milestone birthday with a surprise party thrown by her family and friends at Babylon Town's Spangle Drive Senior Center.

One Lindenhurst woman recently celebrated a century on this Earth.

On October 1 Babylon Town officials said Sara Ameri was "reasonably shocked" when friends and family threw her a surprise party for her 100th birthday at the Town's Spangle Drive Senior Center.

On hand to congratulate her and wish her a happy birthday was Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Tony Martinez and Tax Receiver Corinne DiSomma.
