Photos: Kindness Grows at West Gates
The elementary school's students create a Kindness Garden as part of lessons in anti-bullying and character education.
West Gates Elementary School students and families recently participated in No Name Calling Week, which promoted discussion of the effects of bullying between parents and their children.
In addition students were encouraged to design a flower, complete with a kind act that they'd recently done. Students hung their flowers in the West Gates Kindness Garden, displayed on the main entrance bulletin board in the school.
The Kindness Garden coincided with the theme of kindness in the monthly character education program.
