Police ID Pedestrian Critically Injured In Copiague

A 32-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital Friday night.

COPIAGUE, NY — A 32-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car in Copiague Friday night, police said.

Jose Gonzales, of Copiague, was walking south across Dixon Avenue at the intersection of Molloy Street when he was struck by a westbound 2007 Toyota Corolla at 8:08 p.m.

Gonzales was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition, police said. The 59-year-old driver was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.
