Teen Hit By Car And Hospitalized On Long Island: Police

A teen was hospitalized after getting hit by a car and seriously injured on Long Island over the weekend, Suffolk County police say.

COPIAGUE, NY — A pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured in Copiague on Saturday night, according to Suffolk County police.

A woman, 22, of Bellmore, was driving a 2023 Cadillac XT6 westbound on Sunrise Highway near Bayview Avenue around 8 p.m. when the vehicle struck a 17-year-0ld of Copiague, who was standing in the left lane., police said.

The teen was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in critical condition and the driver was not injured, police said. The Cadillac was impounded for a safety check.
