Toddler Assaulted At LI Day Care: Police
A Long Island day care employee is facing assault charges after injuring a toddler at work, police say.
LINDENHURST, NY — A day care employee on Long Island is facing assault charges after injuring a toddler, Suffolk County police say.
Police said Megan Marchena, 26, of Massapequa, was arrested after she injured an 18-month-old female by pushing her face into a cot on Feb. 24 at Tutor Time in Lindenhurst.
The child was transported by private vehicle to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where she received stitches, police said.

Child Protective Services was notified and after investigation with Special Victims Section detectives, Marchena was arrested on Feb. 28 and charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Marchena is slated to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
