Drivers parking in a numbered space must use a new parking kiosk or their smartphones to pay for parking, village officials said.
Anyone parking in non-numbered spaces with an old-style parking meter may use the old meters.
To assist drivers making brief stops a few 15-minute free “in-and-out” spaces will remain on both North and South Wellwood.
Below are some additional instructions for the new meters provided by the village:
Parking times and fees remain the same and will be in effect Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Rates are .25 cents per hour with a 3-hour maximum.
According to village officials, the meter's “go live” date for North Wellwood Avenue is June 19. Meanwhile, the South Wellwood Avenue kiosks will go into effect after the road is repaved and the newly-angled spaces are painted and numbered.
