Traffic Advisory: Lindenhurst Roads Slated For Closure, Heavy Traffic

LINDENHURST, NY — The Suffolk County Police Department is advising motorists of road closures in Lindenhurst during various public events Thursday through Sunday.

The Bulldog Triathlon takes place Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lindenhurst Senior High School, located at 300 Charles Street.

On Saturday, the Belfast Gastro Pub Breast Cancer Block Party Fundraiser event takes place Saturday, May 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. on West Hoffman Avenue.

Also on Saturday, the Sand City South 5K & 1K Mile Race for Blood Cancer runs from 9 to 11 a.m. and starts at South High Street, police said.

On Sunday, the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce Springfest runs from noon to 6 p.m. on North and South Wellwood Avenues, between John Street and Gates Avenue.

The First Precinct advises motorists to use alternate routes to avoid "traffic congestion and possible heavy traffic."
