Video: Beach Restoration along Ocean Pkwy. Progresses

The video shows some of the beaches and dunes coming back along Babylon Town's barrier beaches.

The Babylon Town Beaches took quite a beating from Hurricane Sandy's fierce winds and powerful flood surge, but somethings appear to be getting better to the South.

Patch reader Tony Werner shared this Lindy Lens video of the beaches along the Ocean Parkway as he drives Eastbound.

Construction equipment is everywhere, moving sands back towards the parkway to rebuild the huge dunes that once protected the area from storm surges.

Town officials told Patch earlier this year they planned to have the beaches restored by Memorial Day, but sand resources were running out.
