Village of Lindenhurst Unveils Design For New Playground

LINDENHURST, NY — Children of Lindenhurst can look forward to a new place to play this summer.

The Village of Lindenhurst unveiled the design for a new playground at Shore Road Park on Monday, in a social media post.

The playground is designed for ages 2 through 12 and features components for accessibility including swings, ramps, and the "Sway Fun" piece.

The equipment is expected to be delivered and installed in July 2023.

The footprint of the playground was slightly reconfigured and is being built with an elevated base to alleviate potential damage to playground equipment from floods, the post said.

While construction is underway, children can enjoy the Village's other two playgrounds such as Village Park on North Alleghany Avenue between Byrd St. and Charles St. and Weckerle Park is located at the intersection of New York Ave., W. John St., and N. 9th Street.
