Village: Residents Can Move Cars to LIRR Parking Lot
Lindenhurst officials say residents worried about their cars and flooding could move them to the parking lot at the train station.

Lindenhurst residents seeking to move their cars to higher ground ahead of Hurricane Sandy could move them to the parking lot by the LIRR train station.
"Village residents can move their cars to the railroad station lot, since the LIRR is shutting down ahead of the storm," Lindenhurst Village Administrator Shawn Cullinane and Deputy Village Administrator Doug Madlon told Lindenhurst Patch on Sunday afternoon.
This was during the third meeting to review emergency preparedness for Hurricane Sandy in the Village in as many days, and it also included Mayor Tom Brennan, all of the trustees, Ray Fais, emergency manager for the Village, Bob Cozzetto, emergency services coordinator for Lindenhurst Schools, and officials from the Lindenhurst Fire Department, Suffolk Police First Precinct, Department of Public Works and Code Enforcement.

Madlon further indicated many times residents will move their cars to the parking lot on Shore Road, but given that flooding is such a concern with this storm, the Village is unsure how it'll fare, or if residents would be able to retrieve their cars following flooding this time around.
