WATCH:Lindenhurst's Jeremy Ruckert Officially Signs With New York Jets
Ruckert, a tight end from Ohio State, signed his rookie contract with his childhood favorite team on Monday with his family in attendance.

LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst's own Jeremy Ruckert is now officially a New York Jet. The rookie tight end who played at Ohio State signed a contract with the team on Monday that is worth over $5 million over the next four years.
Ruckert grew up rooting for the Jets along with his family, who were with him when he signed the papers this week. The team posted a video of the moment on social media, captioning it "Jeremy Ruckert's dad is a legend."

Ruckert was chosen in the third round of this year's NFL draft. According to a statement from the Jets, he grew up traveling to Hofstra University from Lindenhurst to watch the team practice.
"I think the culture, like Coach Saleh said, I think that the little time that I've been around you could tell the culture is spreading very well," Ruckert said at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center after the draft. "I felt it as soon as I was there for just a couple days I was there, I felt it. I got juiced up and I'm just so excited."

On Ruckert's TikTok account, he shared the moment he learned he was drafted by his childhood favorite team.
Ruckert graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 2018, where he played football.
Lindenhurst Village Mayor Mike Lavorata visited the alumnus, and noted that Ruckert will once again be donning a green and white uniform, Lindenhurst's school colors.
