LINDENHURST, NY — Visits and pictures with Santa are treasured traditions for many Lindenhurst families. For them, there’s nothing quite like seeing jolly old St. Nick live and in person.

Holiday Lights & Market at Babylon Town Hall. Residents are invited to help the Town of Babylon Parks Department and the Babylon Town Board kick off another holiday season with a Holiday Lights & Market event at Town Hall. Come check out the festive decorations, take pictures with Santa and stroll through the holiday market from 6-9 p.m. Friday & Saturday Dec. 1-2. Admission is free. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the town's food pantry. All vendors and food trucks will charge their own prices. And finally, don't miss out on a special appearance from The Grinch! Town of Islip Holiday Market. Ring in the holiday cheer with fun for the whole family at the Town of Islip Holiday Market, featuring dozens of craft and gift vendor booths and a variety of food trucks! The holiday market will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from 12pm to 8pm at the Islip Town Hall Parking Lot located at 655 Main St., Islip. Santa’s North Pole Mailbox will be at the market for little ones to mail their letters! A special preview of the Town’s Holiday Light Show will take place at Brookwood Hall from 5pm to 8pm, and Santa Claus will be sure to make an appearance.

Island Christmas. Island Christian Church in East Northport posted on Patch about its community tree lighting event. Free family activities start at 3 p.m. Dec. 2 and include a 30-minute Christmas Show with multiple showings, ice skating (smallest skate size available is a kids size 11/12), live nativity with animals and storytime with Santa. Dec. 3

Breakfast With Santa, Lindenhurst Football and Cheer League, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Dec. 3. Applebee's Grill + Bar, 600 N Wellwood Ave, Lindenhurst. Join Lindenhurst's Football and Cheer League as they welcome Santa Claus at Applebee's. The fundraiser fee is $15 per person, and all proceeds go toward the league. Reserve your spot.

Winter on Wellwood. The fun starts at noon Dec. 3 in the Village Square, with a holiday market and a free carousel giving rides to kids of all ages. Photos can be taken with Santa between 12-2:30 p.m. The Lindenhurst Fire Department’s Annual Christmas Parade kicks off at 4:30 p.m and concludes with Santa Claus’ arrival at the gazebo, which leads to the Lindenhurst Historical Society’s 75th Annual Tree Lighting.

Christmas Land, Tanger Outlet Deer Park. Throughout December, there are timed ticket slots for this 20,000 sq. ft. interactive installation with lots of photo opps. Adults $27, children $20. Kids under 3 are free.
