'Will Always Find A Way To Get The Job Done': Lindenhurst Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Lindenhurst.
LINDENHURST, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Heather, who nominated AJ of Lindenhurst.
Heather, AJ's parent, said that the second-grader has overcome every challenge he faces with determination and strives to help others.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Since birth, he has struggled and overcomes every obstacle. This year he made leader of the month for January, received a SEPTA award for most improved and scored his first touch down in Flag Football even while receiving PT, OT and speech in school. He has also received many shout-outs in his class for helping others, reading chapter books and making everyone laugh, including his teacher.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
He will always find a way to get the job done!
