77-Year-Old Dies After Park Ave Crash: Police
The man was hit while crossing the street Sunday evening, police say.
LONG BEACH, NY. — A 77-year-old man died Sunday night after being hit by a BMW SUV while crossing West Park Avenue in Long Beach, police said.
Nassau County police said the accident took place at 5:23 p.m., with the man being hit as the vehicle traveled eastbound. The man suffered severe trauma and was hospitalized after the crash, police said. He was pronounced dead by hospital staff, while no other injuries were reported, police said.
According to police, the driver of the BMW remained on-scene and an investigation is ongoing.
