
Paninis & Bikins, a flatbread sandwich shop in Long Beach, was recently spotlighted in a national post-Hurricane Sandy news report on the Long Island beach town.
A CBS.com reporter talked with Andrea Fitzgerald and Jason Schatzberg, co-owners of the business at the corner of West Beech Street and Wyoming Avenue, which opened last week just prior to Independence Day weekend.
“It wasn’t completely perfect and ready to open up, but the summer season is very short and that’s really our entire season that we can count on,” Fitzgerald said.

In June, Patch reported on Paninis and Bikinis comeback, in which the store was among 35 local businesses that applied for and received $1.1 million in grants through a National Grid program to help rebuild their stores and restaurants.
The CBS video segment also reported on the $44 million boardwalk-rebuilding project that is underway between Long Beach and National boulevards. The reporter spoke with Long Beach Councilwoman Eileen Goggin, who said:
