Crimes Nearby: DWI Arrests, Bikes and Pocketbook Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Point Lookout

• Sabrina Alexander Banegas,18, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Cedarhurst Avenue and Beach Street in Point Lookout on June 29.

• Two bicycles were removed from Civic Beach in Point Lookout on June 25.

• An unknown suspect stole bicycles from a garage that was left open at Glenwood Avenue in Point Lookout on June 25.

Atlantic Beach

• Two bicycles were taken from a garage at a home on Genessee Boulevard in Atlantic Beach on June 23 or 26.

Island Park

• An unknown suspect took a piece of scrap metal from a shed at a home on Warwick Road in Island Park on June 29.

Oceanside

• Victor Thomas, 18 of Oceanside was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Lawson Boulevard and Weidner Avenue in Oceanside on June 26.
• An unknown suspect took a woman’s pocketbook while she was distracted at Jonathan’s Ale House, 3118 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside, on June 25.

• An unknown suspect stole change from a 2009 white Volkswagen at Franklin Place in Oceanside on June 25.

• An unknown suspect stole chargers from a 2002 black Suzuki at Franklin Place in Oceanside on June 25. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

• An unknown suspect stole copper pipes from a rear yard at a property on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside on June 22 or 23.
