Police seek public's help in identifying man who passed note in Island Park.

Nassau County detectives seek the public’s help in identifying a man who they say robbed an Island Park bank on Friday.

A white, male suspect entered the Bank of America, at 147 Long Beach Rd., and passed a note demanding money to an employee at about 11:42 a.m. on July 5, according to detectives.

“The subject threatened the use of a gun which was in a holster on his right hip,” police said in a press release about the incident. “The subject grabbed the note from the employee and fled the bank with no proceeds.”
Police describe the subject as 40 to 45 years old, 5’10” tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a long sleeve white shirt with a yellow square patch on the left breast pocket and a white and blue patch on his left shoulder, as well as black pants, a black baseball cap with white and red letters, and dark sunglasses.

Two customers and six employees were in the bank at the time of the incident, police said. No injuries were reported.
